ZTE subbrand silently announced the arrival of its new smartphone series dubbed Red Magic 9s Pro. Indeed, the company is expected to bring two smartphones namely Red Magic 9S Pro & Red Magic 9s Pro+ if they follow the same pattern as they did with Red Magic 9 Pro and 9 Pro+. The company officially announced the launch date, which will take place on July 3 at an event in China, where the new series will be revealed.
Regarding the specs, the Red Magic 9s Pro series is expected to bring Qualcomm’s current flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset under the hood. As the Red Magic lineup is all about gaming, there could be a tweaked version of this chip to enhance the gaming experience. Apart from that, a bunch of AI features are expected to be included to improve gaming with its new series. Other than that, the company is likely to retain most of the features from the Red Magic 9 pro series, such as optics, battery as well as under-display camera technology.
For reference, Red Magic 9 Pro and 9 Pro+ share specifications except for the battery capacity. The Red Magic 9 Pro comes with a 6500 mAh battery, while the 9 Pro+ holds a smaller 5500 mAh battery. The Red Magic 9 Pro+ also brings a faster 165W adapter instead of the 80W found on the Magic 9 Pro. Moreover, both smartphones are equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display at 1116 x 2480p protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Regarding the optics, there is a triple camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor followed by another 50MP ultrawide + a 2MP depth sensor. These smartphones run on Android 14 base Red Magic OS9 custom skin out of the box. All the essential connectivity options are present including 5G support. There is a unique under-display camera found on these devices, which is a 32MP sensor to take selfies. Overall, these phones carry flagship configurations and the same we can expect with the new Red Magic 9S Pro series along with a bunch of new AI features.
