A couple of days ago, ZTE officially announced Nubia Red Magic 9s Pro and 9s Pro+ smartphones in China. The company has finally revealed its global launch date, which will take place on July 16 according to the company’s official global website. As seen on the microsite, only the Red Magic 9s Pro will launch globally, while the Red Magic 9s Pro+ seems to be China-exclusive. The website also confirms the existence of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 leading version, which is nothing but an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.
For reference, the Red Magic 9s Pro is equipped with an overclocked Snapdragon Gen 3 clocked at 3.39GHz compared to 3.30GHz for the standard version. It accumulates a 6.8-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display at 1116 x 2480 pixels and 120Hz refresh rate. The display supports 10-bit color depth, covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and has a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits. It further includes DC dimming and 21600Hz PWM dimming.
On top of that, it brings a triple rear camera setup carrying a 50MP primary sensor followed by another 50MP ultrawide and 2MP depth sensors. On the front, there is an in-display 16MP selfie shooter allowing it a full-display design. Furthermore, the device packs a 6500 mAh non-removable battery, which accepts 80W fast charging. There are multiple memory options; either 12GB RAM + 256GB storage or 12GB RAM + 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. All the necessary connectivity options are available on this device.
There is an under-display fingerprint for enhanced security. Overall, this is a solid gaming phone with a bunch of AI features included. Alongside, the company is also launching a gaming laptop named Red Magic Titan 16 Pro for the global audience. The new laptop comes with strong gaming hardware, such as an Intel Core i9 CPU, Nvidia RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 GPU, and a 16-inch 2K 240Hz display having support for G-Sync and DC dimming.
