OnePlus is gearing up to launch its upcoming flagship-grande smartphone, OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. However, the “Ace” series is not truly a flagship, but its configurations are likely to be flagship-level, allowing it to compete against current flagship smartphones at a reasonable price point. Recently, we have heard that the smartphone will use a new generation of silicon negative electrode batteries made by CATL. Finally, the company officially confirms it.
In a Weibo post, OnePlus CEO Louis Li announced the joint partnership between CATL and OnePlus to bring new-age battery technology dubbed as OnePlus Glacier Battery. He Quoted,
“Ten years ago, OPPO flash charging led the “flash charging revolution” of mobile phones. Now, OnePlus has joined hands with CATL to create #OnePlusGlacierBattery, which will start the “battery life revolution” of smartphones! This is a high-performance battery designed specifically for high-performance mobile phones!”
It indicates that the company is seriously working to improve the battery performance. Subsequently, the Weibo post confirms the June 20 press conference, where the new battery jointly developed by OnePlus and CATL will be announced. It is also reported that the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will be the first smartphone to adopt this technology. This smartphone has already been part of numerous rumors and leaks almost clearing up all the specifications.
Speaking of the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro specifications, a recently leaked box confirmed Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, at least 16GB RAM + 512GB storage, and the presence of a classic green color. Furthermore, the smartphone will carry a dual-mechanism 6100 mAh battery combined with 100W fast charging support.
In terms of optics, it is expected to have a triple camera setup with 50MP + 8MP + 2MP sensors. There would be a 16MP front-facing camera along with a 6.78-inch 1.5k LTPO BOE AMOLED display at 1264 x 2780p resolution. When it comes to launch, the company might announce anytime soon as the certification process is completed.
