Honor is rumored to launch its first flip-screen smartphone, and it has been part of several rumors and leaks in a short span. It has already been reported that Honor’s supply chain is currently purchasing the largest external screen in the industry. This shows that Honor’s small folding phone may not be far from being officially announced, and the “industry’s largest external screen” of this phone should include some functional features.
This time, some real-time images have surfaced on Chinese social media Weibo of the alleged Honor Magic V Flip, which is claimed to be Honor’s first-generation foldable phone. As shown in the images, it can be seen that the mobile phone held by the Chinese model Sun Qian is a vertical folding model with a large external screen. The tipster also claims that the external display size is 4 inches+. Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is expected to have a 4-inch external display, which is the biggest on any flip phone.
The device further illustrates two camera modules, one large and one small, that are placed inside the external screen as a “hole”. When we look at the full rear side, the bottom panel is flat with the “Honor” logo engraved at the rear bottom. It would be worth noting that the same kind of design was proposed by previous renders, but with a different camera alignment. But it completely differs from what we have seen in the Honor patent. Maybe, the company reserves that design for future devices.
Apart from that, a device with model number LRA-AN00 was spotted on Chinese authority 3C carrying 66W fast charging support. This model is supposed to belong to the Honor Magic V Flip. It puts this phone in the same category as the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra, which is likely to get 68W fast charging support. Other than that, Honor’s flip phone is rumored to have a 4500 mAh battery, one of the biggest to date in its category. Speaking of its launch, the Honor Magic V Flip might launch this month if the rumors are believed, which is not far away.
