The Vivo S19 series has been part of several rumors and leaks. Finally, the company announced its launch date through Vivo’s official Weibo account. As per the published data, the Vivo S19 and S19 Pro will debut on May 30 in China at 19:00 CST. Earlier today, Jia Jingdong, Vice President of Vivo, published a detailed report revealing the upcoming Vivo S19 series design and camera configurations.
Jia Jingdong revealed that the vivo S19 Pro will be the industry’s first to launch Sony’s 50-megapixel IMX921 large-bottom main camera, which is 1/1.56 inches in size and supports OIS optical image stabilization. There is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX816 OIS telephoto portrait, supporting 50x digital zoom. The front side is surrounded by an anti-distortion wide-angle selfie shooter possibly a 50MP sensor. On the other hand, the Vivo S19 is speculated to have a 50-megapixel GNJ 1/1.56-inch OIS main camera, incorporated with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.
Both phones are embedded with a soft light ring (Aura Light) under the camera module. When taking pictures, the “soft light ring” light emission range and light spot focus range are automatically adjusted as the phone lens zooms. Jia Jingdong added, “When using the main camera to take close-ups, the soft light ring will emit a large area of scattered light to provide fill light for wide scenes. When switching to telephoto, the soft light ring will focus the light into a narrower beam to cover distant objects.”
