Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is thinner than S24 Ultra

According to a reliable tipster Ice Universe, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is thinner than S24 Ultra, also likely to bring some important changes in design.

Samsung’s upcoming flagship series has already started to be part of rumor mills. We have seen a bunch of whispers, that are based on speculations. But now a usually reliable tipster Ice Universe claims that the S25 Ultra is slimmer than its predecessor. Subsequently, the Weibo post also mentioned the exact thickness, which is 8.4mm compared to the 8.6mm found on S24 Ultra. Hence, it is marginally thinner than its predecessor if the claim goes true.

Furthermore, the tipster also stated that “Samsung’s design still does not want to compromise with the image, and does not want to develop in the direction of a pile of Oreos.” It indicates that the S25 Ultra will carry a powerful camera just like its predecessors, and an upgrade is already predicted by multiple sources. According to rumors, the S25 Ultra will have a new version of Samsung’s 1/2.76″ ISOCELL JN1 sensor with 50MP resolution, which is slightly smaller than the one in the S24 Ultra.

A few days ago, the same source also expressed that “Galaxy S25 Ultra will not crush your palm again. It’s really rounded!” This means we are likely to some important changes in design, at least in corners. Many users have complained about the sharp corners of the S24 Ultra. I think the company has taken these complaints very seriously and decided to with rounded corners if we acknowledge these claims to be true.

It is speculated that the Samsung S25 series may introduce MediaTek chips for the first time. Samsung’s previous S series flagship phones all used Exynos or Snapdragon chipsets. But with Samsung’s recent unstable yield rate of its own 3nm process and Qualcomm’s plan to significantly increase chip prices, Samsung’s willingness to use MediaTek chips has increased. But the chances are narrow that Samsung will ever use MediaTek chips inside. So, you can take it with a pinch of salt.

In the current scenario, we are at a very early stage where we can predict certain things. As time passes, everything will be clear about what kind of design the new S25 Ultra will adopt. But one thing is sure we will see top-of-the-line configurations and a great camera setup for what the “Ultra” series is known for.
