The Realme V60 is a budget-friendly smartphone that combines a capable chipset, a decent display, and a large battery. Designed for everyday users who prioritize affordability over flagship features, this device aims to deliver a solid user experience.

Design and Build

The Realme V60 has a minimalistic and straightforward design. Its polycarbonate body is lightweight and easy to handle, but it doesn’t feel cheap. The matte finish on the rear resists fingerprints, while the compact form factor ensures a comfortable grip. The camera module is neatly placed and doesn’t protrude excessively, allowing the phone to sit flat on surfaces.

Though the design is unremarkable, it’s practical and robust. It lacks premium touches like metal or glass but remains durable.

Display

The Realme V60 features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720 x 1604 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. While the high refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling and fluid animations, the HD+ resolution may leave some users wanting more. Text and images aren’t as crisp compared to Full HD+ panels, but for its price range, the display is adequate.

Colors are moderately vibrant, and the screen is suitable for casual content consumption. Brightness levels are decent indoors but struggle under direct sunlight, making outdoor visibility a challenge. The lack of AMOLED technology means blacks aren’t as deep, but it’s a reasonable trade-off for the price.

Performance

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (6nm) chipset, the Realme V60 offers reliable performance for everyday tasks. Paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, the phone handles multitasking, web browsing, and social media apps with ease. The Dimensity 6300 is efficient, ensuring smooth operation in day-to-day usage.

The phone comes with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD card slot. While this might be sufficient for most users, those with extensive media libraries might find the storage options restrictive.

Camera

The Realme V60 is equipped with a 32MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing shooter. The camera setup is modest but adequate for basic photography needs. In well-lit conditions, the 32MP primary sensor captures decent detail and natural colors. The results are good for social media uploads, but the camera struggles in low-light scenarios due to the absence of advanced features like optical image stabilization (OIS).

The front camera is serviceable for selfies, though it lacks the sharpness and dynamic range found in higher-end devices. Portrait mode on both cameras provides acceptable results but occasionally missteps with edge detection.

Video recording is capped at 1080p at 30fps, which is standard for this segment. While the footage is clear and vibrant in good lighting, the lack of stabilization means handheld videos can appear shaky.

Battery & Software

One of the standout features of the Realme V60 is its 5000mAh battery, which ensures excellent endurance. Even with moderate to heavy use, including social media, video streaming, and casual gaming, the phone easily lasts a full day. Light users might stretch battery life to nearly two days.

However, charging is where the Realme V60 falls short. With only 15W charging support, refueling the large battery takes over two hours. This is disappointing in an era where fast-charging capabilities are becoming the norm, even in budget devices.

The Realme V60 runs Android 14 with Realme UI 5.0 on top, providing a smooth and intuitive user experience. Realme UI is feature-rich and offers a good balance between customization and simplicity.
